Love Letters – Return engagement by Greg Batton and Yvonne Greer at Peoria Cabaret Theatre
February 1, 2010 – 2:43 pm | No Comment

Greg Batton and Yvonne Greer are returning by popular demand to appear in Love Letters at the Peoria Cabaret Theatre on February 12th & 13th – just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The Peoria Cabaret Theatre is located in downtown Peoria, at The Waterhouse – a great venue that hosts private parties and special events like Howlin’ on Water; a fun, eclectic mix of music and people, dueling pianos, and great food.  A ton of fun, and not your typical Friday night out.

But the special appearance of Greg and Yvonne – who happen to be married in real life – makes for a very special and unique evening out.  The two of them onstage must be riveting –  presenting this touching, funny, and thought-provoking material written by A.R. Gurney.  As husband and wife, an undeniable chemistry exists for these two, which does nothing but help you step into their world and believe every word.  The script is presented in a Readers Theatre type setting – no fancy costumes or sets, so the characters ( and Greg & Yvonne) rely on their theatrical talents and personal intimacy for character development and conflict within the story.

Through the course of the play, we see these two characters evolve from childhood school mates to adults who experience love, marriage, divorce, and aging. The communication between them takes place through letters – Love Letters - that start out as Valentine notes to each other in grade school, and evolve through the years.  I don’t want to tell you more and spoil the story line for you, but I encourage you to attend.  Take a chance on something different, something real, poignant, and timely, featuring two local favorites.

Don’t miss Greg & Yvonne appearing in Love Letters at the Cabaret Theatre at Waterhouse on February 12 & 13.  Tickets are $33 and include a bountiful buffet and the show.   Reservations for all Main Stage and Signature Cabaret Series shows can be made by calling The Waterhouse office at 309.494.9100 or go to www.waterhousepeoria.com.
